Loren Hecht · TEDxNIU 2015
Loren discusses how, in this culture of information glut and the just-too-much-ness, people have a tendency to get lost inside the thoughts, ideas, technologies, entertainments, and designs of others. In the process, they lose their aliveness. Her talk is a theatrical one about the value of that aliveness, what it is and what it means to lose touch with it.
Loren Hecht is an award-winning college teacher, published writer, performer and professional musician. She holds a Master’s Degree in Creative Writing from San Diego State University, a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Michigan, and she teaches writing composition and critical thinking at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb. Loren has performed in many theaters and cabarets around the country. Her talk, titled “Core Matters,” takes the audience to a whole new world as she addresses the importance of keeping in touch with your inner self.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
